“Notice me” she pleaded

With eyes laden with tears

And lips quivering

“Notice me” he cried

With a mouth turned into a snarl

And hands balled into fists

“Notice me” she begged

As she rattled the chains of her prison

That came in the form of her mind

“Notice me” he beseeched

As the hope died in his eyes

And he took a final breath
