Nothing new under the son
Ecclesiastes 1:9 New English Translation (NET Bible)
9 What exists now is what will be,
and what has been done is what will be done;
there is nothing truly new on earth.
No wonder the world is smiling at our lack-less efforts
We are deeply disappointed, as we sense, not to be admired
We were so much better off when hatred was our comfort
As though we understood the right path “for Christ on fire.”
Western civilization seems pretty sick inside
Values disintegrated in the hunger for comfort
At whoever’s expense, almost everyone tries
To get ahead in whatever form of success of sorts
The “almighty” dollar has no real value
It is the love of money that drives iniquity
Selfishness and greed now accepted as a virtue
As darkness tries to overpower Light’s true liberty
Now it appears clearly that history, itself, is repeating.
The dark ages descended again, bringing the mid-evil
The truth being choked out by man’s concerted reasoning
To make its science god again, offering its illusionary free-bees
