Nothing I can do
Location
We turn a cold shoulder to one another
Turn a blind eye to helping each other
Tell you that "we'll pray for you"
And in the same breath say "there's nothing I can do"
Instead of actually helping out
They only sit there and and talk about
What some one else needs to be doing
Instead of actually pursuing
A way to help those that need it the most
They're deaf as a post
To the cries of the broken, of the hungry, of the poor
Safely protected from that world by a door
Turning their head as they walk by
Carefully making sure not to catch their eye
"No, there's nothing I can do,"
"But I'll make sure to pray for you."
