Not In Vain

Location

Hungry on the streets

All around the town

Holding out their cups

To catch money thrown down

Men and women of valor

Heroes unknown to all

They who served this country

Then came back home to fall

No dignified welcome

Just wandering the roads

No honor in their lives

They carry heavy loads

Pity in my eyes

They battled for you and me

We should give them better

And silence their hopeless plea

Despite their lives of weakness

They still remain proud

Proud to have fought

Let us praise them loud
