Not My Perspective

She was always a mess

Scabs on her face

Dried blood under her fingernails

Her heart throbbed until

It crumbled

And pieces of it cluttered the floor

Like words in my mind that I wanted to say to her

But never did

Her heart used to say something

She used to be someone

But now it is broken and disorganized

Watching her fix herself

Was like watching her play scrabble

And towards the end of the game

Just when only one tile remains

She shuffles them all

Scattering letters and destroying any words that once were

I watch

She lines up the tiles

To form new words

This is my favorite part

First there was chaos

Now a new heart
