Not a Dream but a Legacy

Location

I have a dream

A dream that could terminate the dangers of a forgotten generation

That one day I can go home to find that my fixation of a land blazing

with life is not dead

I have a dream

That the holy land of souls passed will no longer bleed red with

innocent blood, but bleed with the same passion of those who came before them

I have a dream

That I could lead my people back home, one hopeless refugee at a time

That I could offer peace and harmony instead of bitter resentment

I have a dream

A dream that my life would be dedicated to those people who's endless

fight for their homestead would finally cease

I have a dream

That I, a daughter of  two refugees, could find the strength, education, and seer determination

to change the lives of my people who have had their human rights stolen

I have a dream

That the country of Israel and the heart of Palestine could be one

A land where people are not cast behind walls like dissenters

A land that belongs only to those who, with every bone in their body,

couldn't stand to live anywhere else.

I have a dream

That my job could and would not only change my life, but more importantly the life of Palestinians and Israelis, for the better

That whether you are Jewish, Muslim, or Christian, Israel would be a country full of heritage instead of destruction

I have a dream today.

That my legacy will instill hope in a group of people who have nothing else to live on.
