Not Depressed

I’m not depressed, just unimpressed
With all the stress, it’s all distress
You
Try your best at life’s request?
A pointless quest that ends in death

I’m not depressed, just kinda glum
Cuz joy fades, like the taste of gum
And
Having fun is labeled dumb
Gotta turn numb, then work for crumbs

I’m not depressed, I can’t feel
The smile is wide, but isn’t real
Free will’s a lie, my fate is sealed
Can’t fight the cards the cosmos deals

I’m not depressed, I feel alright
When sleep transports me through the night
Until the ever cursed sight
Of rising golden morning light
