#NoFilter

Without a filter what are we?

Without all the effects what are we?

Without the popularity and the followers what are we?

We are misguided.

Life isn't filterable, we cant just fix the little things with a swipe of a finger.

No matter how many likes and shares, our problems still linger.

Our image now outweighs what really matters,

How will your last selfie help you when everything shatters?

A stranger's comment might make your day,

But when you really need help they'll be far far away.

When did double tapping her picture take the place of telling her she's cute?

When did the comment section becaome the place to settle a dispute?

Why will we say anything using a phone or a keyboard?

But in person, in the same space, not a thing is said, not a word.

I'm as guilty of the materialism as any other,

But I don't need all the extra features, the filters, or a visual cover,

I just need someone, anyone, to listen and love.
