#NoFilter

When I am #NoFilter, I am a singer in my bedroom, performing for my sky blue audience, my four walls.

When I am #NoFilter, I am the next Picasso, at least that’s what my mom tells me each Christmas because she loves my homemade gifts, I think.

When I am #NoFilter, I am a teenager that sneaks out at night, puts a few dings in the car, and spends a little bit too much money on fast food.

When I am #NoFilter, I am a nerd, but hey, it gets me one step closer to college.

When I am #NoFilter, I am a reader who quietly sits cuddled up in a plush chair late at night until I finish one more chapter. One more… One more…

When I am #NoFilter, I am a Christian, slowly but surely stumbling through this world trying to take as many people to heaven with me as I can.

When I am #NoFilter, I am a runner, well, a jogger that does her very best during a run, even if that means taking a few breaks here and there.

When I am #NoFilter, I am a conformist who is bullied and paints her face every day so she can find a niche that doesn’t criticize each flaw.

When I am #NoFilter, I am insecure and go to Walmart crying at 10:00 pm because her jeans don’t fit anymore.

When I am #NoFilter, I am a girl who was always told she wasn’t rich enough, pretty enough, good enough.

When I am #NoFilter, I am a believer who yearns to make something out of herself.

When I am #NoFilter, I am real.

When I am #NoFilter, I am me.
