No Time For Anything But War
Walking into to battle.Their eyes look straight ahead.Bodies falling all around,Blood filled memories will forever
Fill their heads.
For most the training seemed to last forever,But the war will last even longer.
When they started off they knew they would come back
But training is much different
Than whats coming ahead, thats a fact.
Every night they will grow more lonely for the missing taste of home.
Every time they get a letter their hearts for a moment will be whole.
But that joyous feeling will not come to some.
Praise to our soldiers who risk their life and limb,For people back home who dont give a damn.
They keep on walking until they bored the plane.Leaving behind their loves and family's,
The things that will keep them sane.
Far to many will get a 21 gun salute,But for the ones that do,
This country should always honor you.
They sit there for hours,Wondering what is to come,
Worrying if they will remember,
All that they where taught.
Stories told from other dont do justice
To all the bad that is in store.
Driving through this unknown place
,For some it hasnt hit them,
That now every morning when they awake,If they sleep at all,
They will be in the same place till there12 months are gone.
Bullets fly and angels sing
Over our fallen friends.Medics embrace a Privates face
As his last day comes to an end.
Battle buddies cry
Because their friends have died. But not one will shed a tear.
There are to many bad things going on,
Theres no time to cry here.
Some get letters,Even fewer get pictures
From the ones that they hold dear.
Every night they think of them,
When their enemies not near.
Months go by,More friends die,But even more enemies are killed.
They arnt there to lose,
Theres no doubt,That with time,
Our victory flag will fly.
Everyday more images invade their once sane,But now stained minds.
But their months are almost up and soon they will be home.
Walking home from Battle,Looking straight ahead.Nothing can scare them now.For a moment everything seems ok,Their going home again.
Greeted by the ones they love
And know by them they are loved back.
For if they didnt no letters would come,
And there would be not a kiss when they came back.
Grasping tightly to their dear,Now they can finally cry.
Days go by,Life seems normal,Until the night sets in.
Tossing and turning,There is no sleep tonight. The images are to clear,All they see if flying lead.
Memories of the war,That some condemn them for,Will never leave their heads.
