No Need For Change
Location
Yellow leaves, from the maple tree that lined our street
Falling stars race across the sky; it makes me fall to my feet
Ancient soil spread across the surface similar to dropping marbles
It stretches forever, like an ocean of time
Trees a vibrant green
Flowers almost florescent, a beauty team
Snow falls gracefully from the sky and I take it all in as if it’s all mine
Crystal cold burn pierces my tongue, a hint of lime
Electricity in the air from the melancholy weather
Shims to shards of transparent glass tare
Melts buttery through my sand paper hands
Rapid rivers rip through eroded rocks
Plum orange suns set like a thousand splendid suns
Horizon’s peek shimmery morning light
Shooting into your vulnerable eyes like a loaded gun
Stinging attraction across your body, the pores tighten
Embody me with summer sand, there the skin will tan
Wind whistles currents almost like clear waves above our heads
Blue rain pitter patters on the tops of tall trees
Reflection of shine that sparkles freely
It leaves a glorious taste
There is so much beauty in the world
Sometimes I feel like I’m seeing it all at once
And it’s too much
My heart fills up like a balloon, it’s about to burst
Others search for change to fulfill their thirst
They wish for unlimited food and no sickness
Wallowing the fear of mongering ugliness
They say let’s end war, poverty and pollution
Though now it’s too late
What the world had to give was not respected
Let yourself be inspired by the wonder
Attempting to change what doesn’t need to be changed
Unforgiving allure sprouts from jagged roots
We try to spare the innocent from the evil
A quest such as that cannot be shielded
No doubt there is much ugly revealed
But possessing virtue surmounts all
There is so much beauty in the world
Sometimes I feel like I’m seeing it all at once
And it’s too much
My heart fills up like a balloon, it’s about to burst
The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways
The point is to change it
Sway it, but don’t destroy it
Counteract all the ugly in the world
Is to be the change we want to see
