No Glow to Grow

The blinding light showed no worries of fading.

She brightened to the slightest actions, making herself visible.

The light caught the eye of many.

The warmth and glow was welcoming.

She was proud to be so luminous,

Making others happy.

Then. . . the light flickered.

Going away for seconds - then longer.

People witnessed the faintness.

They left, missing heat from the irradiance she once had.

There was barely enough energy within her to keep it on.

The light lessened after a while.

Other's brightness made her dullness. . .

. . .more apparent.

Yet, she became unbothered.

The world still held splendor,

Even when she was dark.

Although she was invisible,

She was at peace.

People tried giving her ways to shine again;

Many suggestions to rekindle the flames.

But she politely rejected.

She did not mind not shining like them.

Despite the dimness of the light,

It still existed inside her.

She could now appreciate the warmth.
