#No Filters

Location

These filters

This lighting

"No no no, wait that one wasn't good

Let's take another"

We're all so worried about looking good all the time

But what does our outward appearance have to do with who we really are?

Can that eyeliner and eyeshadow convey

That rough patch you didn't think you'd get through?

Does this lighting show how many

Nights you fought to be standing here today?

How about that filter?

Can that explain how bright you are on the inside?

I am more than what these pictures show

More than the color that lines my lips and envelopes my nails

I have something in me that no filter can show

A compassion that cannot be expressed in a picture

No matter what lighting

No matter how many filters you put on it

You will never be able to see me

Not for my true beauty
