Night of Hope

Thu, 01/23/2014 - 19:10 -- alyal1

When you are feeling sad and blue,

And your darkest nightmares are coming true,

Go to your window in your room,

And when the sky is at its darkest,

Look for the moon.

Why I tell you this?

It is because the moon is our hope,

That shines through our darkest despair.

It glows forever bright,

And illuminates the darkest of nights.

It tells us, ‘Maybe not today,

Not tomorrow,

Or even the day after that,

But one day, your troubles will be resolved’.

It encourages us to be strong,

And to have faith that the tide of sadness will recede.

And even if the clouds, block this very light.

It does not mean the hope is too far to reach.

The clouds say to us, ‘You have rough times ahead,

But we will shelter you along the way.

We will wash away your sadness,

Freeze the nightmares in its tracks,

And provide defense,

Against those who wish you harm.’

Now if you feel like you are very much alone,

And the moon and clouds have vanished from sight,

Look to the stars and their sparkling lights.

Each star is a person of old,

Who chose to stay and watch us.

Their wisdom will guide you true,

For some have been in your situation too.

They say, ‘You are never alone,

For we are here for you.

Now take our hands

And shake off the dust.

For tomorrow is a new day,

And for new opportunities too.

We will stand by your side,

Until the need for us has disappered.’

So have faith, all those who struggle,

You are never alone,

For the moon, the clouds, and the stars watch over you,

And will guide you to happier days.
