New Year, Same Me

I am so sick and tired of seeing “new year, new me”

New year, same me

Same world

Same trees with same leaves

And same subways, same buses

Nothing else changed, why would I, why would you?

Don’t tell me that our way of documenting time gives you the ability to change as it does

Because

Everything is so intensely connected in a tight web of coincidences that the spiders envy the way it all ties together

Did you hear me?

Everything is so intensely connected in a tight web of coincidences that the spiders envy the way it all ties together

How can you say that you change while we have the same cities, the same buildings

The same animals, the same plants

One more time

Everything is so intensely connected in a tight web of coincidences that the spiders envy the way it all ties together

Life is so intricately woven together and every change that has ever been made and ever will be made affects everything

Everything that was and is and is to be is affected by change

Everything, but look;

The same stars

Same planets

Same unexplored galaxies and universes

They didn’t change, and that shows that neither did you.

New year, same me.
