Never Forgotten
Each night I sleep I always see,
The helmet positioned atop a rifle,
Empty boots devoid of life,
No longer in service ensuring others live free,
A helmet to protect the idea to be free,
A weapon use in defence of the free,
Never to be worn in defence of those that are free,
He paid the ultimate sacrifice so others could live free,
Alone but never forgotten will they be,
For each night we sleep their sacrifice we see.
