Never Farewell

Never Farewell

By: Ricardo A Arreola

In a world filled with lies and made up memories

Hate is all a child ever grew to know

But when lying next to frozen stone one

Discovers things all on their own.

He hated the absence of this figure

And the actions he took as well

But most of all he hated the thought of that never farewell.

Deeper and deeper you start to sink

Till all you are is a hollow shell

But when lying next to frozen stone one

Discovers things all on their own.

Hate is all I grew to know, and your absence

Taught me many things

But the thing I hate about our parting

Was our never farewell nowhere to be seen.

So today I let go of my hate “be free”

And here I say my never farewell.
