Never again

Location

Emotionally invested into something I once protested.
I didn't want feelings for you but you convinced me to.
You danced around me as i watched merrily.
Blinded by the kind gestures and awe struck by your features.
I failed to keep my my head in check all while you made my heart a wreck.
With steady hands you picked me apart;
You knew what you were doing from the start.
So now I'm just laying there, ever so empty and bare.
I don't know whether to cry or be mad that I let you walk on by.
Why'd I let you win?
Never again will I let someone in.
