Neglected Melanin

Tue, 09/29/2015 - 00:38 -- dejaL

As you walk down the street in America,

you go unnoticed.

unnoticed in the sense

that you're uneducated,

you never graduated high-school,

but you can dribble like Mike,

or sing like Whitney.

You're judged by the melanin

in your skin,

that's rich like the King's and

Queen's that descended from

your ancestor's that were slaves,

brought out their homeland,

into a place they were forced to call home.

You're judged by someone that forced

the Native Americans out their land.

You're judged by someone that counted your ancestor's as 3/5th's of a human.

You're judged by someone that took your descendants out their homeland,

took gold, iron, diamonds, and silver

but never acknowledged their wrong

doings.

But am I to judged.
