The Nature of Love

I love you, he says
His lips trembling
A withered flower blooming again
From the waste of our hot breath

I don't want to remember, he tells me
His eyes tearing
A new seedling sprouts
Drinking the wasted resources

I want to fix it, he begs
His hands reaching for the light switch
Somewhere a plant exhales
Not wasting any energy

Let's start right now, he proposes
His body stripping itself
The roses stop dying

And they are reborn
