I sat there

I watched as her eyes reddened

And the rims filled and overflowed

I watched as the water fell

Crashing on her cheeks in tidal waves

I just watched

My body frozen

Hands shaking

I felt the stinging in my eyes as well

Same pain she must've felt

But I breathed in

And stood

I blocked the light from her face

Hidden her in a solace shadow

Held onto shoulders rocked with earthquakes

And stood in the waves with her
