"A National Loss"

Location

We watched and stood

A country excited

As the astronauts,

All seven, walked united.

Count down and lift off

A teacher on board

A sky, blue, and soft

To space, they flew toward.

The sky turned to fire

The explosion went Boom

Like a funeral pyre

Locked in their tomb.

" A National Loss" the president honored

A country in pain from their scars

Never forget their memory pondered

Who now make their home past the stars.
