To Nap or Not To Nap

To nap or not to nap- that is the question

Whether to catch up on the sleep from

late nights filled with tweeting and snapchatting

To stay awake and accomplish all the goals

And by opposing, complete all assignments. To Study. To cram.

No more, and by napping, we get rid of the dark under eye circles. No longer needing concealer and makeup

But we always need sleep to survive.

Yet as we lay to rest the outlines and literary criticism hang over our heads

Do we risk failure and graduation just to catch some shut eye

And dream that someday we will be able to nap

peacefully without distractions

But dreams only happen while one is fast asleep

Questioning if education is worth the exhaustion

Deciding that maybe the homework can wait a few hours

To climb into bed and ignore the backpack beside it

Homework can wait till a free period tomorrow

Because spending the afternoon in pajamas is worth more

And after a refreshing nap the homework will still be waiting for me in the same place I left it.
