John 5:39-40 New English Translation (NET Bible)

39 You study the scriptures thoroughly because you think in them you possess eternal life,

and it is these same scriptures that testify about Me, 40 but you are not willing to come to me so that you may have life.

 

We have to come to God ... but it is on His Terms.

Jesus we know “very” well ... is the only Way.

For us to desire ... to be right with God

is surely not enough ... in the final day.

 

2 Peter 3:9 New English Translation (NET Bible)

9 The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some regard slowness,

but is being patient toward you, because He does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

 

The issue never has been ... or God has love enough.

It always has been who or what attracts the love of man.

God’s Love we can accept ... or simply just reject

but that does not change God ... only shows me who I am.

 

The attitude of a sinner ... is set against God’s will.

Naturally we are inclined “from somewhere” towards religion.

Also we are influenced ... by our heredity,

our family’s environment as such ... in search of truth or fiction.

 

If a sinner “chooses” to be a Christian ... in a moment of excitement,

this enthusiasm will not bring him to God at all.

For the issue is and remains the attitude towards God’s will

and all that issues from the flesh ... are reflections from the Fall.

 

What proceeds from man himself ... is rejected by God.

We naturally speak here ... in matters of Salvation.

It is not appearance that counts ... but the origination,

that comes from God Himself ... and secures His destination.

 

God brings a man to Himself ... to grant him a new Life.

Man’s rebellious will has to conform ... to the Will of God.

The Holy Spirit convicts a man ... of sin and degradation.

A man can’t say anything ... even if judged to hell to rot.

 

In Salvation we are not saved ... just because we want too.

The only reason that we are ... is because God wants as such.

Only what God does through us ... is unquestionable expedient.

Everything else non-efficacious ... will lead us back to dust.

 

When God shows the definite plan ... entrained in the Cross.

Man will gladly accept it ... and express a hunger for Salvation.

The first stage of this process ... is the Salvation of man’s will,

so he thirsts for the water of Life and in faith start regeneration.

 

Similarly man’s opposition ... and his constant resistance

are proofs of his unwillingness to come to the Lord of Life.

Accordingly to his desires ... he will then perish forever

with no excuse or reasons ... that this is not justified.

 

Although the moment of new birth ... man’s will is not fully united

with the Will of God ... Who saved him from his rebellious will.

His fallen will uplifted ... through the acceptance of Jesus

and so satan looses control ... in the battle for the will.

 

Believe God’s will. Receive His Spirit ... your “will” will be renewed.

In the molding and making ... God addresses this major part.

He needs to be the Master here ... we can’t afford to be wrong

for the control rests here of self ... towards the desires of the heart.
