MY UNIVERSE

MY UNIVERSE

my universe...
it grows and grows
and goes and goes
where to and how far
nobody really knows
in the vastness
in the dark
light years from home
but where is...
that place called home
E.T. tried to phone home when he was lost here
but ended up reaching a...
busy signal
intergalactically
and 411...
only offered unlisted numbers
even a rocketship
couldn't help me find my way
this is a planet that I'm unfamiliar with
and simply can't find my way
it's catastrophic to say the least
but it's the truth...
and the will of the beast
to watch the vultures fly
and circle above...
the carcass of what I once was
all that remains is
feast for their beaks
their talons will tear
what flesh there is left
from my scrawny bones...
food for scavengers
lost...
no home -
no phone -
all that remains...
is sun-dried
bones...
weathered and glistening
in the sun
an answer to who lands here next...
"obviously you aren't the first
the last
the only
one"
