(I have always wanted
To be free
To find the light
The voice in me
Unique
And sometimes rough
serene and beautiful
Yet sometimes tough
I have been struggling
To find this treasure
My voice
Scratching and
Cracking
This voice has
Swagger
This voice is bold
And I have realized
It has a treasure
This voice
once wanted to take its owner's life
I remember when this
Voice wasn't so beautiful
I have always wanted
to be free
To find the voice
The light in me
I never knew I had
A tongue so powerful
Moore powerful than an army
I have finally found my voice
A voice
So beautiful
With the words
Only I can say
Because they are
Sometimes
Sharp
Sometimes
Captivating
A voice of resilience
A voice of
Integrity and honesty
A voice of
survival
A voice that
Stands on the backs
Of so many beautiful
Voices
A voice of courage
When I wasn't feeling courageous
A voice of reason
When I was feeling confrontational
A voice of seasons
So sometimes it changes
A voice of pride
of genius
I found myself
My treasure
My voice
