My Song for You

I remember all the fun we had

Waking up to a happy home

Other times we would scream and cry

You would never really know

Then we had to say goodbye

You drove away, you were out of sight

In my mind, I saw you turn around

But now

I have a wound that will never heal

Time and time again I wish you were here

So I sing this song to you

I hope that one day you’ll know

One day

That I love you

I waited by the phone that day

Waiting for you to call

I missed you more than you could know

Staring out the window, gathering hope

But its still wound that never heals

Time and time again I wish you were here

So I sing my song to you

In hope that one day you’ll want to know

One day

I hope this wound will finally heal

That I won’t have to wish you were here

But I’ll still sing this song to you

So that you’ll know

One day you’ll know

One day you'll know

How much I love you

I wrote this song for my dad who I haven't seen in years. He is a song-writer too, and I hear that he writes songs about me. So this is my song for you dad. I love you and I miss you.
