I feel so awesome

From the time I wake up back to the time I go to sleep

When I look in the mirror to see my melanin skin I become the happiest human being in the world

Look at yourself and tell me you don't feel good in your own skin

Never been a standout girl but forever stood out

Cause why?

My awesome melanin skin

Always wondered why I was so darker than my friends but realized I had awesome melanin skin

My clothes would cover up my insecurities like security so no one would ever see it

Then I realizied how awesome it was

When you start noticing a white girl trying to be a black girl it makes me giggle

Proving to me I have awesome melanin skin

Because no matter what other pigmentations people are born with I will always have my awesome                                                                       melanin skin
