My skin
Location
I see this means so much to you
You’re afraid that it will touch you
But why it’s just my skin
It carries no thorns to prick you with
It carries no knife to stick you with.
It’s just my skin.
Yes it’s has ark as charcoal
But it says nothing about the quality of my soul
I am not a murder nor am I inferior
To your skin that you claim is superior
At the end of the day it’s just my skin
It’s just another organ
So why do you fear it
Why are you so afraid to get near it?
You don’t fear a man’s heart if he is of your own
A heart you cannot see no less
Still you fear this skin more than the rest
But at the end of the day it is just my skin
Should I peel it all off
Should I just be flesh and bones?
Would you accept me then would you leave me alone?
Would you see that underneath we are the same?
That it does not define me
And it will not cause you pain
It’s just my skin
So I will shed it and let you study
Maybe after you do we can be buddies
I hope scientist will let you see what I am trying to tell you
This organ means you no harm
So when you see me you can keep calm
Because at the end of the day it’s just my skin.
