My Sincere Apologies

Please do not doubt a word I say to you,

My thoughts and my words are sincere and true.

And to you my darling, I must confess,

My happy love has been put to the test.

Dear, you know I'd climb mountains to please you,

But changing me is something I cannot do.

You wish for the prettiest nymph in Greece...

My love, I'm sorry, that... I cannot be.

You wish for the sweetest note ever sang...

Dearest love, I can barely hit an 'A'.

But on my imperfections, I won't dwell.

If I'm pleased with me, you should be as well.

Don't think me unkind or harsh; I'm neither,

But my dear love, you're not perfect either.
