My Relief

Location

I step into the cauldron

The fire liquid washes over but doesn’t burn

Instead I feel relief but know that I singe

My skin burns forcing me back

Yearning I push further into the flame

For relief, I sacrifice

The fire wants more, its nature

My relief diminishes as the fire grows

My only sanctuary becomes my hell

I cannot stand the fire creeping through me

I fight but it has a grasp of thousands

I will be consumed
