My Past Is My Motivation

Never give up

Two years ago i was a rebel student

A clueless human

Who thought didn't have a bright future

Because i thought i was too stupid

For school

Because my mind was polluted

Filled with drugs, gangs and gangsta music

Never thought of going to college

Because i was surrounded with

Gang bangers and crack addicts

Drop outs i knew

That didn't know much of mathematics

I knew i was the smart one out of all of them

But lost hope because i was becoming like one of them

I remember when my "homies" told me  i was supposed to live like this

Because i was brown and Mexican

Raised by two undocumented immigrants

Never listened to them

Living on poverty

Is what got me motivated
