My Past Life

Thu, 04/21/2016 - 23:50 -- DMACsc

In my past Life I was in charge of a dock.

Everyday I ran the imports and exports.

Everyday new things came and went.

         Stowaways.

               Precious jewels.

Men and Women looking for refuge.

People's businesses thrived on the water. We all had flourished

at what the Sea had to offer.

My Men were loyal. We worked hard.

The wind was cold and fast.

           Rain was often.

It was rare for the beautiful

Sunrise or Sunset to appear over the waters.

The Sea holds no memory. It only brings

a quiet Reflection of what was already there.

I was in charge of a dock in my past

Life.

And I died looking out to the Sea.
