My Offering

I'd only felt at best in my dreams
and even then I wasn't fully asleep.
Plagued by my conscience of insecurity,
constantly reminded of my impurities.
Entirely, I forced myself to accept me.
Once I diffused into me, I became free.
My gift of being a listening ear to family and friends,
had manifested into a shift in my life.
I offered my heart, breath, and mind;
to realize that I was made uniquely for me.
Being there for people revealed that
when life smothers one, a way out can be sought
through others.
Created equally, in the same peace
we are all different, yet so constantly the same.
Call out your name of beauty when you gaze into the mirror,
and remember that your flaws are no mistake.
