My Muse
Location
You had me at first glance
You gave me more than just a chance
You lit a fire in me that I can never defuse
You the artist became my muse
A love letter turned to cross country road trips and plane rides
Then you moved across the world to a different city with different tides
The distance was nothing too deep, because it was you that I wanted to keep
Even though at different times we would fall asleep
You were pulling away and I tried to hold on tighter
But for me it was obvious you weren’t a fighter
Someone new, more talented and interesting
I cant blame you, but it sure as hell does burn and sting
I told my friends it didn’t hurt
I distracted myself with a concert
In your hair remained the reds and blues
But I should have seen the signs that maybe I just wasn’t your muse
