MY MOTHERLAND WAILS

In Uganda, a land of beauty and grace,
Where the sun shines bright on the people's face,
There are cries of anguish and pain,
As human rights are violated again and again.

The government's hand is heavy and cruel,
Suppressing the people's voices, a heartless rule,
Torture and imprisonment are rampant and real,
Innocent lives destroyed with no chance to heal.

Women are beaten and abused without remorse,
Their dignity stripped away, a heinous force.

Journalists and activists are silenced with fear,
Their voices muzzled, their message unclear,
Opposition leaders are detained and oppressed,
Democracy and freedom, cruelly suppressed.

But amidst the darkness, there is hope and light,
Courageous souls stand up to fight the fight,
They demand justice and speak truth to power,
Their resilience and bravery, an inspiration to flower.

Uganda, a land of great potential and strength,
Let us work together to end the human rights' length,
May every citizen be free to live with dignity and pride,
A brighter future for Uganda, let us strive to provide.
