My Mom, The Love of My Life

To the one who showed me compassion while he worked endless nights

You gave me air to breathe and a heart to beat

                                                                        continuously

to the pulsating vibrations of my every move.

To the one who screamed out of love while I silently cried

You gave me a present to build on

a past to remember

taking the foundation of my life and

                                                                      creating a home

I could never understand you then.

Those years I despised you

Those years I regret

I cry now

For how I love you and owe you                    my world.

My mom,

the love of my life
