My Mask

I wear my mask not for me, but for you

For your children

For your parents and grandparents

With their cancer, heart disease, and asthma

I fear for their lives

The sickness is brutal

Infecting their lungs

Destroying their fragile bodies

Making them miserable...

Killing them

Since I wear my mask for you

Please, wear your mask

Not for yourself

But for me and my family

This poem is about:
My family
My community
