My Love WAS My Fear

Prince Charming was the one for me,

He was meant to save me from my tower.

My Queen encouraged me to wait for my Prince Charming,

So I did just that. He was the one I wasted away for.

Soon enough, Charming was but a figment of what my Queen wanted for me.

I was afraid to introduce the Princess hiding under my bed.

My Prince Charming never came,

But my Princess did.

Should I tell my Queen?

Risk my throne for who I love?

Would I lose one by choosing another?

With my heart in my mouth,

I knew what I had to choose.

I choose love.

My love is my love, and my Queen has no say.

I found my Princess,

For she is my rescuer.
