"My love, My viola"

Sat, 10/15/2016 - 13:35 -- JGRAY

Good morning, good day,

I am Jordyn Gray, prodigy of Jennifer Gray,

Militarily maintained mutt, of Taj Buggage.

With fears for future fun, I fairly fawn for fanfiction,

And with the wisdom and guidance of Janet Gray,

I have a razor-sharp tongue, as well a well-trained wit.

After aging ten years, the viola found me.

She was a siren, and I was a serenaded simpleton.

I have now aged seventeen years, and am still serenaded since.

Her sound is a gift, and I intend to play this gift forever.

I am the player of all players,

I am the violists of all viola wannabe’s,

I write the scores, I and I wit fully write the counts.

I am the breaker of sound, the breaker of barriers!

In hearing my sound, the deaf shall sing,

the paraplegic shall rise!

The Orchestra room is a serpents’ lair, lying lazily.

Until the serpent appears,

“The seemingly shy first chair viola,” they have murmured.

“That’s cute,” I murmur back, and then I play my piece.

Maybe it is my seamless sound, maybe not.

Perhaps my angelic arrangements, perhaps not.

Their eyes are glued to my bow hand, endlessly bowing.

Their eyes then detour to my furiously flaming fingerboard.

Captivated, is the audience.

Captivated in my movements, the flicks of my wantonly wishful wrists.

Captivated by my pointed and praised pizzicato.

“The spawn of Beethoven!” they shout

“The princess of prose!” they flatter.

Now, I serenade the others.

I am the recruiter, the righteous reacher of the simpleton violists.

I take no prisoners, but beginners beware:

This is my Orchestra, and my verdict varies.

But beginning violists, let it be known,

I am  a ventriloquist, and my voice is my viola.
