My Love,

Tue, 12/26/2017 - 20:13 -- EzRonda

I called you my love,

I called them my family,

Then you broke me.

I gave you my heart,

I gave you three years of my life,

You gave me sadness and hurt and abuse.

When we first met I thought I knew it,

I thought we were meant for each other,

Then you showed me your true colors.

I didn't ask for permission,

I shouldn't have had to,

But you didn't care.

Then we started to talk more,

You started to pick up my hearts shattered pieces,

Then you broke them even worse.

I helped you through some of your toughest times,

I believed in you, and I believed in us,

Then you pushed me off a cliff.

I thought we'd be together forever,

Church bells were really warning alarms,

Then you left.

This won't be the end of my story.

I found someone new.

He put me back together again.

He shows me he cares every single day,

He proves his love over and over again,

He does what you didn't. He cares.

He braved the scars and blood to pick up my shattered glass heart,

He braved the pain and the cuts as he patches me up day in and day out,

He sticks by me.

My friends like him and say that he's good for me,

They never said that about you and I,

They say they can see a future for him and I,

They never thought that about us.

This is me saying what I should've said long ago.

Goodbye.

Goodbye to you.

Goodbye to your family.

Goodbye to the hour long drives to see you.

Goodbye to the memories.

Goodbye to the good times.

Goodbye to the bad times.

Goodbye to the abuse.

Goodbye.

These things always show everyone's true colors. Not just yours, but your families and your friends.
