My Love

We met in the winter time
When the snow flakes fall and litter the ground with sparkles
When the stars seem to shine ten times brighter
When noses were red and cheeks were tipped red

We met as outcasts
Both come from pasts where bullies haunt
Where we constantly look over our shoulders
Where we don't like who we see in the mirror
Where we are afraid to let people in

We met as actors, sworn enemies
I hated you, you hated me but only during rehearsals
For we were in character
You helped me learn to be mean for my role
I helped you learn to be cocky for yours

We met as friends
Everyday we spent time together
Before school and after, talking about everything
No boundaries to what we discussed
Everything was shared nothing was left a secret
Best friends at its finest

We met as a couple
Before going on stage I kissed you for luck
After performances we went out to eat as tradition
We sat together still talking, never bored never ending

We met as lovers
Kissing me on stage when we were alone
Kissing my scars telling me they were beautiful
Kissing my forehead telling me "get well soon"
Holding my hand when it felt like ice
Holding me when we were alone
Holding my heart even when we weren't together

We met as star-crossed lovers
When your parents found out we never talked
You ignored me
You were grounded
Your parents didn't approve
Yet they never met me
But they still didn't like me
We still talked during theatre
But never more then that
You would still tell me you love me though
That was good enough for me

We meet as secret lovers
For now you hide it from your parents
(Who I hope to meet)
For now I hide it from my friends
(Who don't understand the circumstances)
I hope it wont always be a secret cause I see a future with you
You have flipped my Claddagh ring, for you have taken my heart

I hope to finally meet as Man and Wife.
