My Lifeline

How am I supposed to see the light,

When I am encompassed by an ever growing cloud of darkness?

I have no power, I have no might

Come along on my journey, be my witness

I am sinking, drowning in my thoughts

I am flooded with tears in the depths of my ocean of depression

Among the fishes, I begin to rot

My body floats in the void, my face has no expression

Looking above I faintly see my savior

My demons claw at me while I make my escape, but I put up a fight

First breath of a new dawn, no longer in danger.

My life line is composed of pen and paper, finally I see the light.
