My Inner Homeland

Location

I had a dream about you last night

You invaded my home land

I watched you take over

I didn’t stop you because I wanted you with me

In my inner palace

I felt you with every tingling sensation in my body

You took me to a fantasy land where we touched dragon’s scales with our delicate fingers

We traversed galaxies and saw a super nova with our own two eyes

We heard the Beatles live

And we interlocked eyes as they sung about every sense that I felt for you

We sat under mile high red oak trees and used the miniature voices of fairies to whisper sweet nothings to each other

While we watched waves crash onto our imitation ocean

Over a handmade cliff

Under layers and layers of the wildest dreams our imaginations could think of

We stopped time

Tick. Tick. Tick.

In the most perfect place

While our thoughts intertwined with each other

But

Tick. Tick. Tick.

I woke up and

Tick. Tick. Tick.

Time kept on as it continues on

I left my safe haven

I left my abstract place

And you stole it

I thought you were a refugee just hiding out in the back yard of my mind

But Tick. Tick. Tick.

I turned around

And you weren’t there

And as I curled around myself in a question wondering why you didn’t stay

Time

Tick. Tick. Tick.

Continues on

And with time wounds

 Tick. Tick. Tick.

 Healed

And scars

Tick. Tick. Tick.

 Stayed

But in my dreams of you

In my metaphysical home

It is all undamaged

It is perfect

It is where I wish I could explore forever

It is where I can always stop time in that perfect place

Tick. Tick.
