Sometimes I miss you so much it hurts.

Sometimes I talk to you at night after prayers.

Sometimes I wonder if you're even there.  

Sometimes I look for some sort of sign

That lets me know I'm on your mind

Just as much as you're on mine

Which continues to happen, time after time.

Sometimes I wonder how it still hurts so badly

When I can barely remember you or my daddy.

You can't miss something you've never had,

So why in the world do I still feel sad?

It's true that you are my mother

And have a place in my heart that will never go to another.

You did so many great things for me;

You saw the potential not many could see.

Still in my heart I believe you're here.

Ever invisible, but always near.

Though you can't wipe the tears away,

They will be of joy when I can say

That someday is today,

And again I see your smiling face.

Not in a picture but vividly clear

With a chorus of angels singing near.

Until then I'm not quite sure what I'll do,

But know I truly love you.
