Is My Heart Ready?

Bags packed,

path planned,

turned to go ,

feet dragging.

Is my heart

ready?

A simple touch,

a warm hug:

keeps me

here with him.

Hand in hand,

traveling together,

on this barren road

indefinitely.

To persevere through

these toughest winds

we must regain

our inner strength.

Are we strong enough?

Bags packed,

path planned,

turned to go ,

feet dragging.

Is my heart

ready?

Paranoid,

looking over

my shoulder,

prepared to run.

Taking precaution:

 heartbreak ahead?

I don’t know…

Should I take the chance?

Wondering,

if it’s too late

to turn back now;

will the door have

already been closed?

Bags packed,

path planned,

turned to go ,

feet dragging.

Is my heart

ready?
