My Head Is a Hurricane

My thoughts are poisonously hot

They rise to my mind

Building pressure

Leaving my chest tight and empty

No air

Others will try

To breathe back life into my veins

But it all rises back

To my dangerously anguished head

It’s a cycle

Of elevation and despair

And I am so tired

Of spinning and spinning and spinning

Yet I am stuck on this ride

Because I am the center of the storm

Destroying

All that I love

But maybe

The heat will pass one day

My head will finally relent to my heart

And this storm

Will surely

Dissipate

Me
