I met the most amazing person in the world once.
She was kind and smart, also loved art
Wrote intricate stories that set her apart
From anyone else.

Her past was grim, her present was getting better,
And each and every time she would write down a letter,
She’d turn in her world for something anew,
An escape place that got her through
The hard times.

She would often find herself having trouble sleeping,
Have to find other things to do to continue keeping
Some very bad thoughts from leaking
Out.

She suffered from depression but hardly let it show,
Strove to be stronger, you’d hardly know
By looking at her.

Extremely understanding of everything around her,
The one to sit quietly in a room that stirs.
Keeping an eye out for any slur or purr
Able to comprehend most any of the blurs
That people typically are ignornant to and sure
She wasn’t able to dicipher all but she could infer
Extremely accurately.

She wasn’t much a fan of the grading system,
Argued a percentage shouldn’t determine if you’re smart.
She herself was a proof of these words of wisdom,
Knew many things but not the ones put into a chart.

This girl is my favorite human being,
Not because an affection but for the fact she kept on being
A wonderful person despite all she’s faced while living,
Dont get to talk to her much so I keep on believing
Her heart continues beating,
She breathes and there’s meaning,
I look up to her so much and I would do anything
To stop her from leaving.
I hope she knows that.
