My Father

I never knew the path I followed, I never knew how close I'd walk,

I never knew my life was broken, I never knew my dad was not

Taught me how to be myself, taught me how to read and talk

life for me was never easy, life for me was always fought

I want to be more like him, I want to be smart and tough

I want to be more freindly, I want to be kind and rough

He shows me how to live, he shows me how to care,

He shows me which path to take, even when he is'nt there

Helps me with my future, understands that i'll take time

this world has gone so crazy, but my dad will always shine

Inspires me to work, good grades and long sleeved shirts

He knows to get the girl, I'll need to look my best,

I value his courgaed heart, and for him I'll take the test

My father whom I trust, with him I will succeed,

A life of brothers honered, a United States Marine
