My Falling Star

Fri, 06/15/2018 - 22:19 -- snhoven

I watched as she slowly

Fell into herself

I almost wanted

To make a wish

Say a prayer

Because she was a

Supernova

An implosion

That causes an

Explosion

A star's last hurrah

I watched as she slowly

Fell into herself

Her dark hair

Lightened into flame

And her tan skin

Did the same

Red and gold and orange

Erupted from

Everything she did

She was a crackling fire

And I wanted to sit in

Her warmth

Before her embers fully

Died out

I watched as she slowly

Fell into herself

A black hole

Taking over everything

Suckin git all in

Contorting, Deforming, Warping

and I don't mind twisting

Out of shape to experience

This once in a lifetime

adventure

Because her deterioration

Is a journey

I watched as she slowly

Fell into herself

Her voice's tilting meoldy

Turning from Key C,

Pure and white,

Into minor notes clashing

As black took over

And the notes became rushed

Pounding, Pounding,

Sustaining only over each other

No single notes,

Pedal always pushed,

And I couldn't stop myself

From listening to the

Dissonance

I watched as she slowly

Fell into herself

Like a broken mirror

Shattered to form a mosaic

And she could see

Her own reflection shattering,

Splintering, Creating a mess

On the floor

The sceond the mirror split

A dark veil wrapped around her

Like her bad luck became tangible

And she could only see

Herself from behind the

Black shadows engulfing her

I watched as she slowly

Fell into herself

And I don't know why I

Didn't stop it

Maybe because I was as helpless

To stop flass from tumbling

Or a composer from writing

As I was to her

Maybe because dark and light came

Together in such a wonderfully,

horrifically distorted way like fire

Fading and black holes enveloping

If I'm honest, it's because

She was so capitvating,

A falling star on fire

Shattering the darkness of the night sky

Screeching notes fading only as

She falls away

Folding into herself

Falling into herself

A star's death

An explosion of light and color

Smearing the black around with

Vibrant pains of pink and gold and violet

Until nothing else matters except for

This Phenomenon

Happening right in front of me

My heart pounding, falling freely

Breaking soundlessly, sweetly

Until it too ended in embers

and faded colors turned black

But the night sky will never be

The same because her star is gone

But a black hole remains, and she'll

Always suck me in

She can't help it

Any mroe than I

Because my reflection

Is in her eye

Is all she can see

Every time she stares

At her broken mirror

So as I watched as she slowly

Fell into herself

I watched my own destruction

Isn't it incredible how

Beautiful something can seem

and how terrible it can feel?

This is the paradox within me
